Juxtaposition of culture is not a new phenomenon. It’s been there for many centuries.
The forts at Jaipur have witnessed countless change in rule. We witness both abstract designs of the Moguls and the idols of Hindu philosophy coexisting in a harmonious way on buildings.
Entrance doors still have the traditional ‘Ganesha’ at the top though several other cultures have been through them.
This signifies that at a point in time these two different cultures must have coexisted in Jaipur and have influenced each other over generations.
This is an excellent example of how Architecture can symbolize balance.
